The Cristina variety

It is patented by CATINAPLANT SRL Bistrița at the Institute of Research and Development for Fruit Growing Piteşti-Mărăcineni.

The plant is of the tree type. The vines have a semi-erect position, with a large number of annual shoots. The annual shoots are of medium thickness, with a relatively small number of thorns from the middle to their tip.

Medium-sized berries, 0.40 g, oval, bright orange, with a short peduncle (1.9 mm)

The berries’ content in biochemical compounds:

  • Rich content in vitamin C

  • Medium content of carotenoids (β- carotene 4648.02 μg β-carotene/100g fruit)

  • Total acidity 2.61 % (malic acid)

  • Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), 1.11 mg/l juice and 39.60 mg/100g raw fruit

  • Total dry substance: 11.47 % Brix

  • pH of the juice: 1.47

  • Tannoid substances: 0.310 %

  • Mineral salts: 0.50 mg %.

  • The tests carried out so far have proved that the berries, juice and seeds of this variety are very rich in mineral compounds.
